CaribSys believes technology should help people participate, communicate, work, and access opportunity.
That principle applies to the technology environments we help build and to our own digital presence.
We are committed to improving the accessibility and usability of the CaribSys website for people with disabilities, including people who use assistive technologies. Our aim is to help visitors find information, understand our services, and communicate with us effectively.
1Our Approach
Accessibility is an ongoing responsibility. We aim to incorporate it into the design, development, content, and maintenance of our website as it evolves.
Our accessibility objective is to work toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. These guidelines provide a recognised framework for making digital content more accessible to people with a range of disabilities.
Our priorities include:
- meaningful page structure and logically ordered headings;
- keyboard navigation and visible keyboard focus;
- readable typography, appropriate contrast, and text resizing;
- meaningful text alternatives for informative images;
- descriptive links, clearly labelled controls, and understandable form instructions;
- layouts that remain usable across screen sizes and levels of magnification;
- compatibility with screen readers and other assistive technologies; and
- consideration of accessibility when introducing or updating website features.
These priorities describe our improvement objectives. They do not constitute a certification of conformance across every page or feature.
2Ongoing Improvements and Third-Party Content
Accessibility needs, website content, and technology continue to evolve. Some pages, documents, older materials, or integrated features may present barriers, and experiences may vary across browsers and assistive technologies.
Where we identify a barrier, we will assess its effect on access and make reasonable efforts to address it, giving particular attention to issues that prevent visitors from accessing essential information or contacting us.
Some features may be supplied by third parties. If you encounter a barrier involving one of these features, please report it to us. We will assess the issue, raise it with the provider where appropriate, and work with you to identify an accessible way to obtain the information or assistance you need.
